We are always excited to hear from new and unique voices. Our inbox gets flooded every day with writers from all over the world and we want to make sure we read your piece. Here’s a few things you can do to make sure your article gets read and published!
Read our site first
We love fresh ideas and new takes on old ones! We are always looking for thoughtful, thought-provoking, evergreen content that will resonate for years to come. Spend some time on the site, browse around and get a feel for the content to see how your writing fits in with what we have published. Above all, we are looking for content that either challenges or inspires our readers.
Craft your pitch
Every great piece or article is preceded by a compelling pitch. The WHY of your piece. Let us know why your article would be a great fit for Women in Our Town and how it would add value to our website and strategy.
Submitting your pitch
- A brief pitch 4-5 sentences on what your article is about
- Complete article or story — we prefer long-form content, a minimum of 800 and no more than 3000 words long
- A high-res author headshot
- Author bio, no more than 300 words in length
Submit original content
All content that is published on Women in Our Town is original. That means it has not been published anywhere else online and is the author’s own intellectual property. The only exception to this is excerpts from books where we require express written permission from your publisher that you are allowed to publish elsewhere. Once your article has been published on Women in Our Town, you are more than welcome to share it on another website as long as the article links back to the piece published on Women in Our Town.
